Discussion:
Event ID: 3000 warning
(too old to reply)

The DNS server has encountered numerous run-time events. To determine
the initial cause of these run-time events, examine the DNS server
event log entries that precede this event. To prevent the DNS server
from filling the event log too quickly, subsequent events with Event
IDs higher than 3000 will be suppressed until events are no longer
being generated at a high rate.

Is there a way to resolve this? It's a warning that I get but not
Error to follow. Have read some on some listings that it can be
ignored, but skeptical.

It is events previous to this one, you need to look at. You may be able to
ingnore them, if the previous events are expected.

What if there are no previous events? My DNS event log is clean except for
some errors when doing the initial setup. I was not getting the event 3000
for a period of time, now I get event 3000 once/day buy DNS appears
completely functional. I do not see any previous events though.

I see (4) stop events that occurred when I was first setting it up -
otherwise my event log is filled with nothing but informational successful
events and this event 3000 on occassion.

Anyway to get it re-report the causing event?

This is describing our problem exactly. There are no events prior to these
that are helpful due to the fact the Event ID 3000 has consumed our even log.

No events whatsoever?
No Zone transfer events?
No Zone serial events?
Nothing?
There would have to be, 3000 events are runtime events caused by repeated
events over a period of time, usually 15 minutes. The events need not be
errors, just repeated events. I've gotten the events many times while
editing numerous records in DNS at the same time.

Ah, my read of event 3000 was that there were previous WARNING or ERROR
events that caused event 3000 to occur. I've been scouring the logs looking
for previous errors or warnings. Yes, I have informational events such as
zone transfers, writing zones, etc. I wasn't expecting normal operation to
generate a warning event. So, normal, successful, informational events can
cause an event 3000?

Yes, they do if they happen in rapid succession.
